A new path. Together.

“Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss”.

These are the ambitious objectives that International community wants to achieve for 2030 through the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 15.

The Node approach to this challenge is based on the belief that only trough an holistic, flexible and innovative approach SDG 15 can be met. SDGs have introduced the novelty of their universal applicability for all countries, regardless of their status, developed or developing ones. This opens new unchartered territories for pioneering cooperation and partnerships’ modalities, where variable geometry schemes can lead to ground-breaking sustainable solutions.

The Node believes that, although important, science, research and innovation alone cannot achieve SDGs. They need to be wisely combined with social inclusion, human empowerment and cultural elements, in order to be finely adapted to local contexts and conditions. There is no effective implementation and sustainable development, at local or global level, without a solid and collectively shared sense of ownership; without a full sense of respect for diversity.

Node’s agile structure and dynamic way of thinking facilitates and builds innovative partnerships and cooperation’s modalities. We work to achieve SDG 15 with like-minded partners driving with us social, economic and environmental progress. This is why the NODE is currently exploring potential cooperation with UNDP-Art also at local level in the Mediterranean region.
