The Node is enlarging its support to EU Institutions and Mediterranean key-stakeholders to tackle climate and environmental change.
The European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability (EIP-Agri) and the Mediterranean Experts on Climate and Environmental Change (MedCC, which contributes to the IPCC) - are now receiving support from the Node.
Within the EIP-Agri, areas of support include: landscape management to diversify strategies, knowledge exchange through platforms/networks/centers, decision support systems, techniques and practices to manage small-scale forests and the fire risk. Eventually, the support will lead to the identification and recommendations for new priorities, programs and initiatives and the related resources allocation.
In line with the International Panel on Climate Change, the MedECC provides support towards an improved scientific assessment of climate and environmental change and their consequences in the Mediterranean Basin. More specifically the Node focuses its efforts in the area of ecosystems and ecosystem services and will play a leading role in the knowledge production.
The Node is represented by its Scientific Coordinator Dr. Enrique Doblas, who has been appointed as climate change expert within the EIP-AGri and the MedCC.
