On the 13th of March 2018, The Node will be presenting its initiative” A new vision for migration: Turning challenges into opportunities” at the final conference of the EU funded project, DANDELION, in Rome, Italy.
Under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, the conference will gather eminent speakers who will address the issue of migration, its challenges and opportunities at the strategic, operational and policy-making level.
The Node, in cooperation with the organisers, has mobilized UN agencies and networks of local authorities and NGOs to offer an holistic and integrated perspective to the debate, which will offer also a variety of case studies, including also the role of media, the social perception and the specific dimension of health and migration.
The Conference is aligned with the raising awareness pillar of the Node’s initiative and aims at further promoting the knowledge sharing, best practices exchange and fostering a better understanding of the main opportunities and solutions that managed migration brings.
The Conference will also be an occasion to promote the second pillar of the initiative: A voluntary and multilevel partnership, stemming from local challenges, based on commonly identified solutions and focused on an operational capacity able to adapt and replicate solutions in different contexts, unleashing the potential for the socio-economic innovation of migration migration offers.
The Executive Director of the Node, Mr. Tomas Matraia, will present the Node’s initiative and chair the conference and chair the first panel of speakers, including EU, UN and local authorities representatives.
